The Story

Mobicon started as a passion project—a way to bring the excitement of comic conventions to Mobile, Alabama. What began as a small gathering grew into the city's largest pop culture event, celebrating geek culture, cosplay, gaming, and community. For seven years, I poured my heart into building something that brought joy to thousands of attendees.

When the pandemic made it impossible to continue, we made the decision to close with dignity. We donated our remaining funds—$25,000—to The Penelope House, a domestic violence shelter in Mobile. The convention may be gone, but its impact on the community lives on.
